I think people who have this commitment phobia are scared of themselves more than the commitment thing
They are not sure if they can be so good for someone to stay for life, they are scared if the other person falls out of love
They don't know if they can be as interesting company, as good to love, as good to be loved back..in the long run
And that's why they camouflage it with this notion of "commitment phobia" and hold it as an additional charm to their personality
And same is with flirts..their desire to flirt with many stems from some inner complex..probably they know every stint will be a small one..and they start looking for another before they delve more into any one person
Its their own deficiency which makes them what they are, and the project it onto the ones who fall for them
I admire those who can love one person for long..I envy their strength and their passion

oh yeah absolutely. it is nothing but an insecurity and the poor other person suffers the most because of that. Sigh.

correct.this is THE TRUTH.A person who delves deep into his brain and mind for a sense of self knowledge will know this.Inspite of all weaknesses ,he feels the deepest vibrations of love &all other emotions which takes his mind tO othe realms of reality AND FANTASSY.I THINK WRITERS LIKE HESSE FELT IT THEMSELVES AND WANTED OTHERS TO READ IT AND UNDRESTAND THIS TRUTH SO THAT THEY CAN LIVE A LIFE FULL OF EVERYTHING

The people who fear commitment are the ones who don't trust themselves..
And flirts are the ones who mistake themselves for explorers..
Its takes a lot of courage to love only one person all your life. Its not easy, but it strengthens with time..
@Soumya - Yes and such people are so few
Difficult yet possible :-)...loving a myth of love is easy and i have seeen people doing it....
These explorer sorts, they mostly do not know what they are looking for.
@Kabir - I dont like being judgmental on this thing..but we all do it..in some or the other aspect
